Reimagining Canada Day
On June 16, Remai Modern was pleased to host one of the events in Reimagining Canada Day, a free talk series organized by Reconciliation Saskatoon that addresses the complex relationship many people have with Canada Day. The event featured spoken word artist Tala Tootoosis, Knowledge Keeper Lyndon Linklater, Métis educator John Lagimodiere, youth/community organizer Allison Forsberg, newcomer/author Michael Afenfia, spoken word artist Ahmad Majid and more. Reconciliation Saskatoon is a community of organizations, non-profits, businesses, faith-communities and partners who have come together to initiate a citywide conversation about reconciliation and provide opportunities for everyone to engage in Calls to Action.
